Meet the Teacher
My name is Miss Thornton. I am currently a fifth grade teacher and loving every minute of it! I am originally from New Jersey. I attended Lees-McRae College, nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, to get my degree in Elementary Education. While at Lees-McRae I played on the women's soccer team and also ran track. You might occasionally catch me playing tag or kicking a soccer ball around with the kids at recess (it's just too much fun).
It's been my dream since I was in third grade to become a teacher that would inspire, educate, and encourage kids to want to be and do their very best every day; and now that's exactly what I get to do! I'm doing what I love, and loving what I do! I look forward to an awesome year and working together to make our class the #DREAMTEAM!
